Your Guide to the Keepgo eSIM Affiliate Program

Your Guide to the Keepgo eSIM Affiliate Program

The eSIM market is growing fast. GSMA Intelligence forecasts that by 2030, as much as 76% of smartphone connections could run on eSIM technology, and recent iPhone models already ship without a physical SIM slot. For anyone building an audience around travel or connectivity, that shift is a real opportunity, and it's exactly what the Keepgo eSIM affiliate program is built around.

Keepgo has been running a global eSIM platform for over 15 years, with coverage in 150+ countries. We're always looking for partners who understand where the market is headed or who are already recommending eSIMs to their audience.

If you're a content creator, blogger, influencer, website owner, or eSIM aggregator, this guide walks through exactly what the Keepgo eSIM affiliate program offers and how to get the most out of it.

What Is an eSIM Affiliate Program?

An eSIM affiliate program follows a simple process. As an affiliate, you get a product URL with a unique tracking code. Once you place it and someone clicks it, the tracking software drops a cookie on their device. If they make a purchase, the brand credits the sale to you and pays a commission.

Our affiliate program works the same way, with one important distinction: we keep it separate from our referral program. With the affiliate program, you generate links to our products and earn a sales commission. With the referral program, both you and the person purchasing receive 1 GB of free data instead.

eSIM affiliate programs differ in their terms. Some have shorter or longer attribution windows (the time between a click and a purchase that still counts toward your commission), and some pay a higher or lower commission rate. The attribution window affects how much time can pass before a sale is no longer credited to you; the commission rate affects your long-term profitability. Either way, the core appeal is the same for any affiliate: easy setup and zero inventory costs.

If you're interested in becoming an affiliate, we typically work with:

  • Travel blogs or destination-focused sites whose readers plan international trips
  • Social media content creators whose audience follows their itineraries or trip vlogs
  • Travel gear, packing, or trip-planning comparison sites
  • Online businesses serving travelers, such as booking platforms, tour operators, or travel agencies
  • eSIM aggregator platforms that resell our products

This list isn't exhaustive. We're open to any application, as long as the target audience is relevant.

At Keepgo, our main differentiators are a personal affiliate manager, flexible commission rates, and an API-based referral system. If you run an aggregator site, you can use our shared API endpoint /api/get_esim_prices to pull the current list of plans, prices, and descriptions as structured data. Add your referral code as the ref parameter on the request, and every link it returns automatically becomes an affiliate link.

How to Become a Keepgo Affiliate

If our terms work for you, here's what joining the eSIM affiliate program looks like:

  1. Go to our eSIM affiliate program page.
  2. Click "Become a Partner" and fill out the form. You'll hear back from our team by email.
  3. After reviewing your request, we'll set you up with an account on the platform and register you as an affiliate.
  4. Generate or mass-generate affiliate links from your account for any product on the Keepgo website.
  5. Offer the products to your audience through relevant content or page placements.

If you'd rather be a referral partner instead, apply here and follow the same steps.

After Joining the Keepgo eSIM Affiliate Program

Once you have access to the Keepgo platform, you'll generate affiliate links, track performance, and review every transaction through GOAFFPRO, the Shopify app we use to make things easier for affiliates. Here's what you can do in each tab.

Home

Keepgo affiliate dashboard Home tab showing referral link, coupon code, and traffic summary

The Home tab is your dashboard. Here you can review and copy your referral link and coupon code (the coupon deducts a discount for the buyer straight from your commission). The summary section covers your key stats at a glance, including your overall link traffic.

Marketing Tools

Keepgo affiliate dashboard Marketing Tools tab for generating product links and media assets

The Marketing Tools tab generates a link for any bundle or product on the Keepgo website: just paste the original product URL and your link is created automatically. For banners, use Media Assets to find ready-made images for each product. Talk to your affiliate manager if you need something custom.

Analytics

Note: the numbers in this screenshot are from a demo account and don't reflect real performance.

Similar in spirit to Google Analytics, this tab shows performance for each affiliate link you're using. You can see which devices, operating systems, and browsers people are visiting from, plus everything relevant to sales and conversions.

Transactions

The Transactions tab lets you review each purchase individually and see when it happened, plus exactly how much you earned for it.

Payments

Keepgo affiliate dashboard Payments tab showing commission summary and payout details

Payments are all about the commission you've earned. As soon as your sales commissions reach $25, you're eligible for payout during the first week of the following month. This tab also shows how much you've made in total, per month.

Settings

Keepgo affiliate dashboard Settings tab for updating profile info and referral code

Settings is where you fine-tune your profile: create a custom referral code instead of the default numbers, link your socials, set up a Facebook Pixel ID, and choose how you'd like your commission paid out. None of this is required, but we ask every affiliate to fill it in so we understand how and where you're marketing our products.

We do strongly recommend adding your preferred payment method (usually a PayPal email) as soon as you register, since it's the most common cause of payment delays when it's missing.

How to Place the Affiliate Links

Once your Keepgo affiliate account is set up, the only thing left is to actually use the links. Most of our affiliates place them within travel blogs aimed at tourists or in video reviews of our products.

Beyond that, we also see affiliates using their links in:

  • Seasonal newsletters and emails
  • Business travel and corporate content
  • Comparison or "vs." content
  • Digital nomad and remote-work resources
  • Tech and gadget review channels and sites

Where you place the link affects how well it converts. We aim for a high degree of transparency, so we recommend placement that's contextual and prominent, without feeling too salesy. If you run an aggregator site, you can build destination pages with the relevant bundle information built right in.

If you're running an affiliate marketing campaign on social media, place your link somewhere the platform actually lets people act on it: your bio, stories, or a pinned comment under a Reel or TikTok work well. Since people watching a video usually can't click a link mid-scroll, consider a pop-up or a clearly displayed promo code they can remember.

Because people trust well-researched reviews, we ask affiliates to test our products before including them in content. You're also welcome to place banners with our products on your site. You'll be able to choose them once you're registered as an affiliate, and we generally recommend placing them in easy-to-spot sections of the page.

Whatever you produce, video or text, should flow naturally and sound authentic to your audience. A couple of real examples for reference:

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Since we're aiming for long-term relationships with our affiliates, here are a few mistakes we often see from people who've recently joined the eSIM affiliate program.

Spreading Across Many Affiliate Programs

It can be tempting to join several affiliate programs at once, but it usually works against your brand. Once a reader converts after reading your content, they've made a mental connection between your recommendation and that brand. If a competing eSIM provider then shows up in your content too, you're breaking that trust and undercutting the recommendation you already made.

If you run an eSIM aggregator, this isn't really an issue. Visitors to your site already expect to compare price and value across providers.

Not Using rel="sponsored"

This is the most common mistake, and the reasoning is a little technical. Search engines like Google crawl the web with bots that evaluate pages and add them to their index. Once that happens, an algorithm evaluates the outbound links on your page to judge whether you're organically endorsing what you link to.

When you place a <a href> tag around an affiliate link without a rel attribute, the algorithm reads that as an organic endorsement. Since the link isn't actually organic (you're being paid to promote it), that can look like an attempt to manipulate rankings, which goes against Google's guidelines. The consequence can be a sitewide penalty that hits your traffic, rankings, and overall site performance.

To stay safe, add the rel="sponsored" attribute to any affiliate link you publish. It tells search engines the link is a paid, commercial reference rather than an organic endorsement, which keeps your site compliant with Google's link scheme guidelines.

Not Reviewing and Updating Content

Any destination guide or trip-overview video eventually goes stale. A post about a country written two years ago probably isn't accurate anymore, and your competitors may already have something more current. Revisiting your top-performing posts once or twice a year keeps them earning instead of quietly losing relevance.

Not Considering Compatibility and Network Lock

A lot of travelers never check device compatibility before buying. Not every phone supports eSIM, and even ones that do can be carrier-locked, which blocks a new eSIM profile from installing. If someone buys through your link, gets home, and can't activate it, that's a bad experience tied directly to your recommendation.

Remind readers to check both eSIM compatibility and lock status before they buy. This FAQ article explains how to check for a carrier lock, and what to do if there are restrictions.

Advertising Only the Cheapest or Low-Data Plans

Leading every recommendation with the cheapest, lowest-data option isn't always the right call. Plenty of buyers underestimate how much data their apps actually use (a handful of background updates can burn through a 1 GB bundle in 10–15 minutes). And even without that, a plan that's too small for the trip just leads to frustration that reflects on you as the affiliate. Matching the plan to the trip length and data habits you're writing about tends to convert better and generate fewer complaints after the purchase.

The Last Three Important Tips

  1. Disclose the partnership to your readers. It's not a strict requirement, but disclosing that a link is an affiliate link is good practice. It keeps your readers' trust and helps us all uphold the standard we hold our affiliates to.
  2. Lean on your affiliate manager when you need to. One thing that sets us apart from other eSIM affiliate programs is that you get an actual person to work with. Ask them to help renegotiate commission, offer advice, or answer any question you run into.
  3. Revisit performance and keep testing placement. Your dashboard shows exactly what's converting. A strategy that worked a year into the partnership might not still be working. Check back on performance periodically, ideally once a month, so you can catch and act on any decline quickly.

And with that, we'll wrap up this eSIM affiliate guide. We hope it's been useful. And if you decide to partner with Keepgo, we'll be looking forward to your application.
